The Boardroom

Shark Tank. Eight slots.

Friday afternoon the Boardroom turns into a pitch room — eight short slots, back to back. It's the one part of Alpha with a stage-shaped thing in it, and it's deliberately the least formal room in the building.

If you're raising

Pitch the room. Short — enough to explain what you're building, what you need, and why now. No deck requirement, no pitch coach, no clock theatrics.

If you're not raising

Pitch it anyway — as something people should use. A lending desk walking through its book, a wallet showing what shipped, hardware you'd never get a keynote for.

The sharks

Several people in the room have written checks into Bitcoin companies before, and they'll be sitting in. But there's no panel and no gatekeeper — anyone at Alpha can decide to invest, or just tell you your pricing is wrong.

One requirement

Whatever you pitch has to come with something this room can't get anywhere else, and it has to be unique to your offering. Raising? Reserve a tranche for Alpha attendees. Selling? Terms or pricing that aren't on your website. No exclusive, no slot — that's the whole deal, and it's why these slots are worth sitting through.

The main event is at Hotel Casa del Mar on Friday, Oct 16. Plan on at least two nights (the 15th and 16th). Shore Hotel is sold out for Friday the 16th, so we have added its sister property, the Ocean View Hotel next door — same Bitcoin Alpha rate, and it has rooms for both nights.
